Think and Grow Rich – 50 Cent Persistence
Alright carrying on with our smoking hot success lessons to learn from Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
We are still in chapter 2… there are a ton of nuggets in this chapter. Yesterday we talked about Darby and the lesson he learned from missing out on millions of dollars worth of gold by quitting on their strike 3 feet from the Jack Pot!
( you can read yesterdays post here: Three Feet From Gold )
Today Mr Hill shared more about his friend Darby…
He shared how Darby was working with his uncle in his uncle’s barn and a young child of one of his employees came up to him and said her mother needed 50 cents and demanded it from Uncle Darby.
Uncle Darby at first said no and told her to leave, but she would not leave until she got what she came for. And Darby’s uncle even threatened to take a switch to her if she did not leave… but she would not… she even yelled at him that her mother needed the money and she was not leaving until she got it… she was committed to her goal!
Long story short Uncle Darby gave the child what she had come for and it was a serious lesson in persistence for Darby.
He told Napoleon Hill that this experience and missing the gold by 3 feet taught him:
“To keep on keeping on no matter how hard the going may be – a lesson I needed to learn before I could succeed at anything”.
What you just read, my friend is one of the MAIN keys to success!
The #1 cause of most people’s failure is they quit as soon as trouble or difficulty comes along.
Well guess what?
Trouble’s, trials, difficulties, rough patches, etc… will ALWAYS come along and try to throw you off your path.
You can count on it, that the minute you become serious about a goal a trial is coming your way!
It is the way this universe was created…
Be prepared for it… in fact instead of getting upset by it embrace it as a learning experience…
These troubles and tests we are given are designed to turn us into the person we MUST become in order to finally achieve the success we desire.
They are your education…
When they say success is a journey they mean it…
Journey’s never go as planned, things change, stuff gets in your way, troubles occur…
Success is a journey…
But if you understand this you are well prepared to make it.
1) Decide what you want to achieve. (set your goal)
2) Find a proven plan to get you there. Anything you could possibly want to achieve has already been achieved by someone else and their map of how they have gotten there is easily found online or in a book or audio!!
3) Follow the plan… work the plan daily… until you succeed. Do not quit for any reason!
Is it Easy? Nope… but it sure is simply and very do-able!!
