We all know how important diet is when we want to get rid of belly fat but what are the BEST exercises to tone and tighten your abdomen?
If you open any health or nutrition magazine you will probably notice a ton of articles about how to get a slim and trim waistline, how to get a sexy stomach or the best foods to eat to get a lean core.
The phenomenon surrounding a sculpted set of abs comes from the idea that if someone has a noticeably lean mid-section they are extremely “healthy.”
Most fitness gurus will agree that a noticeable set of abs usually means an extremely regimented diet and exercise routine, however abs ARE genetic. That doesn’t mean that if granny didn’t have a wicked set of abs, you are out of luck.
It does mean though, that the inherited shape and size of your abs will probably not change.
Everyone has the ability to have a flat stomach if you are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to get and maintain them. (Which of course only comes with an extremely lean diet consisting mostly of lean protein, green vegetables, healthy fats, complex carbohydrates, whole grains and some fruits and dairy.)
There are many different exercises to help you get rid of unwanted belly fat and get you those rock hard abs.
There is much debate about how many times a week you should do abs. Some fitness experts say, once a day, others say treat it like any other muscle group and rest them.
The fact of the matter is sometimes, its whatever works best for you.
No one puts on or loses weight in exactly the same way, nor should everyone train in the same way. In terms of diet, there are some rules set in stone in order to get rid of belly fat but when it comes to training, a personal trainer may be best able to direct you in the way you should go.
One of the most necessary and most effective ab exercises is the standard crunch, and then doing variations like oblique crunches and hanging leg raises.
Learning to do ab exercises PROPERLY is really important. (Not many people LOVE to do abs, so why not do them correctly to get the best results?)
If you need help finding exercises, there are tons of websites out there along with numerous fitness magazines to help guide you in the right direction to get rid of belly fat and earn those jaw-dropping abs you have always wanted! Remember, when it comes to abs you are what you eat, so keep those chips and chocolate bars away from your mouth.
Make a decision every time you put something in your mouth and ask yourself, am I eating for PLEASURE or for PURPOSE!!!!!
Also when it comes to ab training the rule of thumb is NO PAIN, NO GAIN!!!!
