Success Is Consistency

Your number one goal in life should be to learn to become consistent.

Once you have created the self discipline to doing what you said you would do. Once you have mastered being consistent in the consistency-is-key to successrequired activities (what ever they may be), then your success at anything you desire to achieve is inevitable.

Consistency out perform skill and talent any day of the week.

Someone could have all the talent in the world, but if they are easily distracted from doing what is required to reach their goals, they will never reach them.

However someone who has almost no talent in an area can excel at it, if they can discipline themselves to keep on keeping on… continuing to do the activities that are required to make it.

Nobody is born with self discipline…

Self discipline is a learned behaviour, you develop the ability to stick to something over time… you train yourself to do what you promised yourself you would.

The key to developing this “Habit” is to start small…

Set small goals… come up with smaller activities that you can start on and stick to… the more times you stick to something the more your mind will come to realize you mean business and that you will do what you say you will.

If your goal is to get into shape, do not get so gung ho that you make a plan to hit the gym for 2 hours a day 5 days a week… you are setting yourself up for failure… you may stick with it for a week or two, but eventually you will start slowing down and miss a few trips to the gym and before long get discouraged and quit altogether…

A better plan would be to plan to hit the gym 3-4 times a week for no more then 45 minutes at a time…

This is a realistic plan that most people with a little bit of self discipline can stick to AND see great results from!

Be like the tortoise… slow and steady always wins the race…

Regardless of what you want to accomplish, decided what it is… find a proven plan to get there, make sure it is something you can realistically fit into your schedule… and then Just Do It!

The great thing is once you start to train yourself that you will follow through on your commitments to yourself, becoming successful becomes much easier.
