Message From Steve Jobs

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Came across this message from Steve Jobs and wanted to share it with you!  Excellent!!

Steve Jobs gave this as his second story of his Commencement Address at Stanford University on June 12, 2005.

Love and Loss

I was lucky. I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees. We had just released ou…r finest creation – the Macintosh – a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. How can you get fired from a company you started?

Well, as Apple grew we hired someone who I thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out. When we did, our Board of Directors sided with him. So at 30 I was out. And very publicly out. What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.

I really didn’t know what to do for a few months. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down – that I had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me. I met with David Packard and Bob Noyce and tried to apologize for screwing up so badly. I was a very public failure, and I thought about running away from the valley. But something slowly began to dawn on me – I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected, but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.

I didn’t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.

During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the worlds first computer animated feature film, Toy Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. In a remarkable turn of events, Apple bought NeXT.

I returned to Apple, and the technology we developed at NeXT is at the heart of Apple’s current renaissance. And Laurene and I have a wonderful family together.
I’m pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn’t been fired from Apple. It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers.

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking.

Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.

How to Increase Your Wealth…

Posted by: | Comments (0)

When desiring to have success in your  life there would not be too many people out there who did not consider increasing their finances as being a major part of that equation.

Yes there are other important components to a successful life.  But today we are going to discuss the financial side…  the cash side!!

One of the best ways to start learning how to get your finances in order is to get yourself a free copy of “The Richest Man In Babylon“.

Without a doubt this book is jammed packed with time tested and true methods for creating wealth.  Written by George Clason, this book will not only teach you how to make money, but how to save it.

As the old saying goes it is not how much money you make but how much money you save.

I sort of agree with that saying.  However I definitely think that making money is not such a bad thing also!  :)

However there is no point on making money if you do not know what to do with it when you have it.  Pick up that book as the starting point.

As for making money, I am a huge believer in the multiple streams of income philosophy.  Robert Allen pioneered or at least took this concept main stream in his book by the same title.

Creating multiple streams of income is not only the smartest way to create wealthy but the most powerful.  By having numerous streams that all end up in the same bank account you end up creating an ocean of income.

The best way to build this type of income these days  is on the Internet.  Never has it been easier to create numerous income streams then using the power of the Internet to do so.

But be careful, learning the inn’s and out’s of trying to build a business on the internet can be a very daunting task.  Trying to figure out what is the best route to go.  What is the best business to build is tricky.

Do not fall for the trap of building a business simply on an idea you are in love with.  Focus on the basics and fundamentals of internet marketing and you will create a very successful business that will pay you multiple streams of income and allow you to live a lifestyle that is filled with some serious time freedom.

As Always… Live Motivated!

Want Success Start Zigging!

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Some time ago I was building a business with my brother as my partner.  It was a very competitive field and one where the failure rate was quite high.

I suggested that in order to succeed we should stop doing what the majority of people were doing and go our ownsuccess in life way.  I coined the phrase we needed to zig when the crowd was zagging!  Do something different!

My experience has been that when the crowd is going one way, you need to go the other.

This principle has held true for most areas of my life and it holds true if you are searching for success in your life.

Lets look at it further…

Lets say you want to create wealth in your life.  What is the crowd doing?  Well most people go to school, get a job paying them barely enough to survive and they are told to invest 10% in the stock market, so if their lucky and the market does not crash, by the time they reach 65 they will have just enough to barely survive.  Living on 40% of what they could not afford to live on in the first place.

Not this guy I choose to zig!!!

If you want wealth you have to go and create it, you will have to take risks, you will have to work long hours , you will have to do exactly the opposite of what the crowd is doing.  But the rewards will be tremendous.

Let’s look at another example…

Lets say you want to started feeling motivated…  successful people engage in personal development like reading inspiring quotes for success daily.  Unsuccesful people watch tv instead!

How about you decide you want to get in shape and lose weight.  Obviously you are not going to do what the majority of people are doing.  Eating hordes of processed foods high in saturated fats, not exercising,, etc.

No you are going to have to zig big time!!

Hit the gym, cut back on the serving sizes, eat fresh fruits and vegetables, the right amount of protein, etc!

Break away from  the herd  gang…  stop listening to the crowd.  Do not take anyone’s advice unless you want to have what they have.

Stop playing it safe.  get motivated, live an inspired life and chase after your dreams.  You only have this one life on this planet.  Think about your last years of life, do you want to look back and say “wow I wish I had of at least tried”!

Life is yours for the taking, if you go for it.  And the easiest way to create the success you desire is simply look at how the crowd is zagging and then simply start zigging!!

As Always… Live Motivated!

Are you ready to pay the price?

Achieving success, happiness and the lifestyle of our dreams, requires paying the price to achieve those things.

Ask yourself are you willing to pay the price?

Here’s the ironic thing…  either way we all are going to pay a price.

We will either pay the price in order to achieve success.  Or we will pay the price of not  achieving success.

Meaning in order to become successful at anything in life, it takes time, effort, dedication and determination.

Let’s say you apply those principles to building a six figure residual income.  Do you know what happens when you have a six figure residual income?

It means you have an income that is over $100,000 a year and it comes from passive means, such as investments, internet businesses, real estate investments or a home based business like network marketing.

Passive residual income means you build it once and the money shows up in your bank account each and every month after you built it forever!

It means you could run out and get hit by a bus and the money would continue to poor in!  (don’t’ test thisinspiring quotes for life theory…  but it is Pretty cool!)

You create this and you can live any type of lifestyle you desire.  Get up when you want, go where you want, buy what you want, spend time doing what you want whenever you want!  Very Cool!

But to get there it takes work effort and dedication.  So you can either pay the price and create that type of lifestyle…

Or…

You can give into instant gratification.  Meaning spending your money on that new TV when you should have invested it.  Or watching TV at night when you should have been spending that time building an internet business, etc  etc.

When you give into instant gratification, you rob yourself of the future gains you could have had.  Instead the price you will pay will be working your J.O.B until you are 55 or even 65 and then having to depend on social assistance in your retirement years just to survive!

Big big difference between these two scenarios…

I encourage you not to be short sighted, do not give into the instant gratification temptations.  Instead think long term, look ahead to how you want your life to be 3 – 5 years from now, put a plan in place to get there and work your plan, never giving up until you reach your goal! Commit to personal development to help you stay motived.  Even reading short inspiring quotes about life daily has helped me stay on track to reach my goals.

Trust me 3-5 years is all it will take to be able to create a completely different lifestyle then the one you are living now.  And 3-5 years flies by!!

BUT  again the choice is obviously yours…  but always remember  whichever route you choose you will pay the price, either now or in the future!

As Always… Live Motivated!

There is no disputing it that committing to a daily regime of personal development can help you to succeed in life.  Anyone who has ever created tremendous levels of success for themselves are pretty much guaranteed to be committed to personal development in one form or another.

I cannot imagine even considering trying to deal with the ups and downs and stresses of life and business without the help of personal development to help me continue to stay focused, and grow into the type of person you must become to succeed.

Reading a motivational book in the morning when you first get up, helps to get your on the right track for the day.  Reading a inspirational book before you got o bed at night, focuses your subconscious mind on positive success oriented thoughts all night long.

Even listening to a self-help audio program in your car while you are driving instead of the radio station is a simple but powerful adjustment  anyone can make, that will result in tremendous changes occurring in your life.

However for most of us life is busy, so what happens if we get to busy to take 30 minutes to read a chapter of a book every morning?

I know for myself my day becomes nowhere near as productive as it would have if I got my daily dose of personal development.

The solution I have found to this to get a subscription to daily inspiring quotes that arrive in your mail box each morning.  It takes only about 30 seconds to read these quotes, but I have found that they keep me almost as motivated as reading a chapter of a book.

Now I am not saying to stop reading personal development books, on the contrary.  However for those times you do not have the time, or even to add on top of your present personal development regime, inspiring quotes are a great strategy.

Being able to hear short tidbits of high powered thoughts from the greatest success minds of all time is like a shot of motivation right where it counts.  You cannot help but get fired up and focused to stay on track.

Plus the information shared in short quotes is life changing.  Pay attention to the message these successful people are trying to send to you in these little quotes.  Anyone who wants success would be out of their mind not to listen to the people who have achieved it.  And inspiring quotes daily is an excellent way to do just that.
