8 Easy but Powerful Ways to Change Your Life In Under A Year

Do you often wonder how your life ended up the way it did? Why you are not living the life you envisioned as a child that you would be living?  How to Change your life

For most people the answer is they simply let life happen to them. They just went with the flow. They did not plan out their life, they did not decide what they wanted they just accepted what came along.

Like a boat without a rudder the river just took them where it wanted to…

As children all of us had a vision of what our lives would look like… we knew what we wanted and it looked great. But somewhere along the way we lost sight of that vision. We let life bounce us around and we settled for whatever came our way.

In fact most people spend more time planning a weeks vacation then they do their life… and then they wonder why they are always frustrated, stressed and angry.

You are these things because you have not become who you were designed to become… you are not being the true YOU!

What most people do not realize is that life does not have to be this way.

You do not have to simply accept what comes your way. You can design the life you want to live. You are the captain of your destiny… you chart the path and you steer the boat in the direction you want to go…

Anyone who has created the life they want to live will tell you they did so with intention. They knew what they wanted and they went to work making it happen.

And the good news is you too can change your life anytime you choose…

It will take effort and it will take determination… but it is very possible!

The following are 8 Strategies to help you get started on Your path:

Strategy #1 – Know Where You Want To Go:

If you do not know where you want to go how will you ever get there?

Decide what you want your life to look like and then write it down.

Successful people have goals. The know exactly what they want and where they are headed.

Look into the future, 1 year, 5 years and 10 years from now… how would you like your life to be? Write it down, and place it in locations where you can see it.

Read your goals daily to remind yourself of what you want and where you are headed.

If you do not know where you are headed you will never arrive!

 

Strategy #2- Spend 30 – 60 Minutes in Personal Growth Daily.

It is important that you spend time doing personal development type activities daily.

Activities that will help you grow as a person. Activities that will keep you grounded and focused on where you are going and what you want to achieve.

For me this is a few things…

I spend time reading my Bible and in prayer. This keeps everything in perspective for me and allows me to remember what is the most important aspects of my life.

I also spend 30 minutes reading a good personal development book like Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Typically in the morning and then I will also usually read a page or two in bed just before I go to sleep. This keeps my mind focused during the night.

Strategy #3 – Associate with The Right People.

You are who you hang out with. You become just like the people you spend the most time with. If you are around grumblers and complainers and negativity it will wear off onto you and you will become like them.

The same goes for success… if you are around movers and shakers, people who are going places, people who are upbeat and positive and share the same goals and dreams as you, it will also rub off on you.

Take a look at your friendships and if they are not the type of people you want to become it is time to start finding new friends!

 

Strategy #4 – Take Care of Your Body!

This one is huge!

If you do not feel well… there is no way you will ever be able to accomplish your goals.

A fine tunes body will produce results. If you feel good, are energized and ready to rock great things will happen. If you are out of shape, tired, no energy, no motivation then you will not be able to do what is required to make your dreams a reality.

Get your rest… 8 hour a night of sleep. Be in bed before 10pm as the body gets the most rest between 10pm and 2am.

Eat a healthy diet…

Your nutrition is probably the largest part of the equation. Stay away from processed foods, eat lots of fruits and vegetables and take a daily vitamin.

Get your butt into the gym. Exercise it does the body good. It keeps you healthy. It gives you energy, it reduces stress, anxiety and frustration. And it clears your head and keeps you focused.

Water water water… You have to stay hydrated. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily!

 

Strategy #5 – Turn Your Car Into a Moving Classroom.

Turn off the junk radio, it is nothing but garbage news and music that these days is simply crap.

Instead while driving there is no better time to learn and get motivated!

Get yourself some audio programs that will inspire, teach and motivate you. It is incredible what you could learn while simply driving around doing your normal daily activities.

 

Strategy #6 – Limit Your TV Time.

I enjoy watching a good show or movie it is a great de-stresser for me. I can relax and just zone out.

But I do so maybe 3-4 hours a week tops!

Most people spend 4-6 hours a day watching TV.

STOP!!

It is a time waster, it is sucking the life out of you. You are literally wasting your life while watching other people live theirs.

Think of what you could be achieving during the time you are plopped down in front of the TV munching away on that garbage food!

Take that time instead and use it for activities that are going to bring you closer to your goals. If you did it would shock you at what you could achieve in no time!

 

Strategy #7- Stop Whining!

Complaining is not just a time waster it is a demotivater. It will bring you down and it will bring the people around you down.

Sure you will have ups and downs and life is going to happen… but there is no point whining about it. Grit your teeth, deal with it and move on. Do not waste your energy complaining about it as that will do nothing to help the situation and will in fact make it worse for you by zapping your energy and depressing you.

Strategy #8- Take Action!!

By far and I mean by far the most import component to changing your life is to move forward.

Get started today. Do not wait for the perfect time because the perfect time does not exist. That is just an excuse people use.

There is no time like the present. Make yourself do what is required now.

The cool and powerful thing is once you get started working towards your goals it is easy to keep going and in fact it is very hard to stop.

An object in motion tends to stay in motion.

The key is to make yourself get started… get that ball rolling down the hill. Once it starts rolling it will just pick up speed and before long you will start to see great changes happening in your life!

 

Final Thought: Keep in mind that success is a journey and it is a windy road you will be on. There is not a successful person out there who did not have their fair share of challenges.

Everyone experiences temporary defeat… everyone wants to quit from time to time. This is all natural.

The people who make their dreams a reality are the ones who push on anyway.

Just realize these setbacks are part of the journey, expect them and do not be surprised when they show up. And just keep on keeping on!
