5 Ways to Start Living a Happy Life Today…
If you look online one of the number one searched for phrases is “How to be Happy”!
Life is short and everyone wants to live a happy life.
But with all of the pressures and stresses of life to many it seems like a very difficult goal to accomplish.
So is it possible and if so how do we go about creating a happy life?
To me I believe yes it is possible. I do not mean that you will be always running around happy happy happy with a big ol’goofy grin on your face. But over all I believe you can be happy and have joy in your life.
So… In this article we are going to look at 6 strategies to help you start being happy…
But before we get into them, it is important for you to understand that your happiness is up to you.
It is created by you, and not by anyone else or what you possess…
It has nothing to do with material possessions or what other people can do for you.
You could be dirt poor living in the worst part of the world and be happier then the wealthiest person on the planet… It is a mindset that you have to work at daily!
So lets look at these 6 ways to help you get on the path to living a happy life:
For me this was the missing link so to speak to my happiness! When I got my life on track spiritually my perspective on life changed and everything came together for me.
I believe everyone deep down has questions spiritually. Everyone has a longing to know if there is a God and who is this God?
Plus if we are honest with ourselves… most people are afraid of dying and wonder what is next. How can you be happy with this looming over you? You need to come to peace with it.
All of these feelings and thoughts are natural and in my experience and opinion this is was by design. Humans are meant to feel this way on purpose. In my opinion humans are meant to know and have a relationship with God.
But regardless of your beliefs or lack of it I encourage you to get this matter worked out one way or the other… get to a point that you have peace with it. If you have all the other pieces in place for Happiness but this one is missing I doubt you will ever be truly happy.
If you do not feel good you will not be happy…
If you have no energy you will not be happy…
If you can not do the things you wish to do physically you will not be happy…
All of these problems and more can be corrected by simply taking a little better care of your health.
Being healthy is not hard and you do not have to be obsessed with it… Little changes can go a long way!
Spend 20 minutes a day 3 days a week doing a physical activity. Could be walking, running, biking, etc. Work your way up to 30 – 40 minutes and maybe 4 days a week. But start slow, do nto stress yourself about, make it a part of your life and before long it will be second nature to you.
Stop eating “Fake Food”! This would be processed stuff. Donuts are not real food… Doritos are not real food… they are man made and full of garbage that makes you feel like crap!
Apples are real food… Carrots are real food… Chicken & Fish are real food… Grains are real food…
Move more and eat healthier and you will notice a big difference in how you feel, how much energy you have and how happy you are.
Your mind is a muscle that needs to be worked daily!
Sitting around watching TV is not working your mind it is numbing it and making it lazy. Things like facebook and the games on it are forms of entertainment that make your mind lazy.
Your mind has to be challenged and exercised just like any muscle in your body if you want it to grow…
There are different ways to do this….
==> Read personal development books daily. Books that are going to expand your mind. Books that are going to help you improve yourself. Books that are going to help you learn new things.
Most people read fiction which is just another form of entertainment… this will not help you grow your mind muscle… Learning helps you grow the mind.
==> Learn a new skill. Whether it is a musical instrument or how to build a new business, etc… it makes no difference as long as it is something new you are learning.
Never settle and always be challenging yourself and growing your mind.
If you are struggling to pay your bills and make ends meet financially you are going to be stressed out and frustrated.
When you are stressed and overcome by worry it is very hard to live a happy life.
You do not have to become ultra rich… money does not bring happiness… but living within our means or living on a budget we can afford does help.
So there are 2 ways to do this…
==> Cut back on your expenses… My father and brother have always told me since I was a young little guy… it is not what you make BUT what you keep!
Most people spend more then they earn and that is why they are struggling with money or lack of it…
so … stop buying all the latest gadgets… stop spending more then you make… maybe look at down sizing your home… buy a used car instead of a new car… get rid of your credit card debt, etc!
==> Your other option is to make more money. There are all kinds of ways to earn extra money, especially in this day and age of the internet.
Will it take time and effort? Absolutely, anything worth while does. But there is no question that if you have the ability to read this blog post you have the ability to build a part time or a full time income with your own business whether online or off.
It really comes down to your priorities… would you rather spend 2 hours after working your job building a part time business or do you prefer to plop your butt down and watch tv?
Your last thoughts will be about the people closest to you… your family and friends.
Outside of a spiritual life to me my relationships are the most important.
You have to intentionally work on them… do not neglect your family. Make time to spend with them. Invest in them. Make memories.
Spend time with the important people in your life… and also surround yourself with positive minded people. Stop hanging out with people who are holding you back and tearing you down. We do become just like the people who we spend the most time with.
Final Thoughts— As stated at the beginning of this article. Your happiness is up to you to create… it will not happen without you intentionally going to work at making it happen.
